Damita Holbrook, the owner and Principal Planner of Glam Event Solutions and Founder of GLAM Nation, holds a B.A. from Spelman College and a master’s degree from Georgia State University. She possesses over two decades of experience in the event planning industry, catering to a diverse range of clients, including corporations, organizations, education systems, and even celebrities. In response to the challenges posed by the 2020 Covid Pandemic, Damita expanded her business to create GLAM Nation.
The inspiration for GLAM Nation came from the recurring theme of “let’s get out and do something” expressed by many women who desired to lead fulfilling lives and connect with like-minded women. Damita responded to this call by establishing GLAM Nation, a membership sisterhood designed to fulfill women’s needs for engagement, enlightenment, and new experiences. Given Damita’s long standing commitment to championing women, this extension of her business was a natural progression.
A noteworthy aspect of GLAM Nation is that it has been growing organically, with existing members inviting their friends, female family members, and colleagues to join after attending their first event. This exemplifies that the sisterhood is fulfilling a genuine need and resonating with its members.

I’ll start by saying GLAM Nation is exactly what I needed in my life. Being a mature woman with small children, a spouse, and businesses it’s difficult to meet and cultivate new relationships with others. From my first outing with GLAM Nation a few years ago, I have been blessed by the connections. When we get together there’s always a lot of laughter, healing, support, and love in a non judgmental way. As a member, I learned that so many of us are going through similar things and we just need to know we are not alone. Women supporting women is near to my heart, so I invited my friends to attend a GLAM Nation event and of course they joined too. I am thankful Damita was listening to what so many of us had been saying and for creating a space for us to refuel, heal, and grow.
As a proud member of GLAM Nation for the past few years, I can confidently say that this organization has truly enhanced my life! The opportunities to engage with like-minded women, laugh and have fun, enlighten my mind through thought-provoking events, and explore new horizons have been nothing short of incredible. GLAM Nation has provided me with a supportive community of empowered women who inspire and uplift one another.
What stands out to me as a member of this organization are the activities that we experience from holiday train rides, mountain retreats, winery tours, volunteering, and more! As a working woman, I appreciate being part of an organization with planned experiences and volunteering opportunities. I don’t always have the bandwidth to plan these opportunities for myself, so knowing that I am going to enjoy a top-tier event is one of the things that I live for. After my 21-year marriage ended, I took time to self-reflect and watch Netflix. In November 2021, to get me out of the house, a friend (Dee Freeman) invited me to a Holiday Train Ride, but I missed the deadline to pay. So, Dee came back sharing how much fun she had and the wonderful women she had met. A few days went by, and I began to think about this Glam Nation group Dee spoke of. I decided to call Damita, and the voice on the other end came across full of life and excitement… like sitting on ready to tell me about the GLAM Nation life. After speaking with Damita, with her pleasant personality, I wonder if this group of women all carried a similar positive spirit? Well, I wanted and need to network, connect with spiritual minded sisters, embrace getting out more and having fun, exploring, and experience the joy of living life AGAIN…I decided to join.
I’ve attended several events, where we’ve laughed, cried, learned more about the importance of self-care, prayed together, and just shared girl-time bonding. The women of Glam Nation are Super Women individually and collectively! I am truly grateful and thankful to God for allowing me to have a life journey to have such beautiful spirit ladies as my sistas. And, this is why every female I know and meet who needs an outlet, as well as positive, strong, fun, and loving women in their circle, I immediately tell them about GLAM Nation and quickly get their email address to pass to Damita.
